The Story

Breyer by CollectA
The Warlander was developed by crossing Friesians with purebred Iberian horses – typically Andalusians, although Lusitano and Menorquín bloodlines have been used as well. Although the Warlander wasn’t recognized as a breed until the late 20th century, the crossing of Friesian and Iberian horses has a history going back to at least the 16th century. When crossbred, the offspring inherit the best traits of both breeds: the dramatic action and heavy bone of the Friesian, and the comfort and bravery of the Andalusian.
